Ernests Brusubārdis III

Conductor, pianist, educator

Born 17 April 1963 in Milwaukee, US. Received his initial musical education under the direction of his father Ernests Brusubārdis II, completed his studies at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music and later at the University of Wisconsin, earning Bachelor’s (2000) and Master’s (2005) degrees in conducting and music teaching.

When still a teenager, started conducting the combined Milwaukee choirs Brusbārdas koris, founded by his father, and Dzimtene (Homeland), involving the youngest singers in his Brusubārda’s Ensemble. Soon founded his own choirs – the Milwaukee Daugavas Vanagi male choir and the Daugavas Vanadzes female double quartet, also conducting the Garezers Summer High School choir (1985-1986), was the musical director of the Metiens folk dance group and the Milwaukee Players ensemble. In 1986, was invited to become assistant conductor and choir conductor of the Wisconsin University Orchestra, but since 1999, has been the choir conductor at the Harford High School. Demonstrating his wide-ranging prowess, frequently performs as a pianist and concertmaster.

A chief conductor at the XXIst All-Latvian Song Festival, as well as chief conductor and organiser of countless West Coast Song Festivals and USA All-Latvian Song Festivals. Awarded a Recognition Certificate by the American Latvian Association (2012).
