Anda Lipska

Choir conductor, educator

Born on 24 May 1964 in Tukums. Studied at the Rēzekne secondary school No 5 (1971-1979) and in the Department of Choir Conducting of Rēzekne Music secondary school (1979-1983). Studied at the Latvian State Conservatory’s Department of Choir Conducting (1983-1988), while working as conductor of the Latvian State University’s Minjona female choir (1985-1988).

Since 1988, has been an educator at the Jānis Ivanovs Rēzekne Music College and since 2007, also conductor of the school choir. In parallel, directed Ezerzeme (Lakeland), the Rēzekne Cultural Centre youth choir (1988-2003) and the Trejkola mixed choir of the Latvijas finieris company (since 2003). For some years, directed the mixed choir of the Rēzekne Vocational High School and the years 5-9 Polish secondary school choir in Rēzekne. Since 2008 – conductor of the Medicus female choir. With Medicus, Lipska has won numerous prizes in international competitions – 2nd place in Poland’s Varsovia Cantat international choir festival (2010), a silver medal in Slovakia’s Bratislava Cantat II international choir competition (2014), a Gold Diploma and Golden Angel statuette at the international Advent and Christmas Carol Choir Festival in Krakow, Poland (2015), 4th place at the 14th International Choir Contest of Flanders in Maasmechelene, Belgium (2017).

A chief conductor at the XXIIIrd All-Latvian Song Festival, of the Rēzekne city, Rēzekne and Ludza district choirs (since 2003), as well as of many Latgale region festivals and massed-choir concerts.
