Choir conductor

Born on 9 December 1971 in Nereta. Studied at Jēkabpils No 1 Secondary School (1979-1987), at the Jēkabpils Music School (1980-1987) and in the Department of Choir Conducting of the Jāzeps Mediņš Music High School (1987-1991).

Studied at the Department of Choir Conducting of the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music (1991-1996), graduating from Ferijs Millers’ class, and obtaining a Master’s Degree in Cultural Management at the Latvian Academy of Culture (1999-2002). Supplemented her knowledge at the College of Catholic Church Music and Musical Education in Regensburg, Germany (1993-1994) and in project management at the University of Latvia (2003).

Worked as a teacher at the Ķekava Music School (1991-1993) and at the Jāzeps Mediņš Music School (1993-1998). At the same time, was actively working with amateur choirs – was the conductor of the Balsis (Voices) choir (1996-2006), the mixed choir of the BA School of Business and Finance (1999-2000), Tiāde, the Salaspils youth choir (2003-2005), founded and directed the Bank of Latvia choir.

Has accomplished a wide range of artistic-organisational activity – was the senior expert for the music sector at the E. Melngailis Centre for Folk Arts (1998-1999), a specialist in choral music issues (2003-2004), organiser of the European Conference on Music Training (2001), project manager of the Musica Baltica publishing house (1999-2003), Deputy Director for artistic issues at the Rīga City Council Cultural Department’s Ave Sol concert agency (since 2005), artistic director of the Gido Kokars Song Festival Heritage gala concert, artistic director, organiser and massed-choir conductor of the Mūzikas iedvesmas lauks 2007 (Field of Musical Inspiration) international choir festival. as well as managing and organising many other important events.

A chief conductor at the XXIIIrd-XXVIIth All-Latvian Song Festivals and Latgale Song Festival (2010), project coordinator for the massed-choir concert at the XXIIIrd All-Latvian Song Festival, assistant to the chief conductor of the Rīga choirs (2005-2005), chief conductor for the Preiļi District (2003-2005) and Jēkabpils District (since 2003).
